Lennon, Dali and Sandoval's Cello Dream

This is a painting about a dream of a falling cello being caught by a headless member of the orchestra on a cast iron shore. A female cellist sits on top of the blue/green abstract design like a celestial Sistine cherub with flowing dress.

My two biggest influences in the arts, John Lennon and Salvador Dali, met once in person down by the river Seine in Paris on March 24th, 1969. They were the leaders of the surreal movement in their respective fields, music and fine art, in my mind. From all accounts Lennon was the less enthused and it was Dali pushing for the meeting and wanting to collaborate in the future. Hope Sandoval's face is cropped in the right foreground of the grey block in the center of the painting.

Various eyes are torn out and placed on the colored bar design watching the dreamlike scene. Behind the female cellist's hanging dress is the engraved image of Ben Franklin taken off of a $100 bill.
